2021 Wrap-up: Celebrating our successes

‘Every time you tear a leaf off a calendar, you present a new place for new ideas.’

This Charles Kettering quote perfectly summarises why at Westcoast Cloud, we can’t wait to see what the new year brings. But reflecting on progress is essential for success. So, with that in mind, what have we achieved in 2021? And what does this mean for you and your customers? Let’s take a look.

Recognising our achievements

At Westcoast Cloud, our successes are your successes. This is why we’re thrilled to have won Cloud Distributor of the Year at the CRN Channel Awards. We are so proud of this achievement. And it really wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of our team and our partners. So, we’d like to say a massive thank you for all that you’ve contributed this year.

Speaking of awards, Westcoast Cloud boasted three finalists at the recent CRN Women in Channel Awards. The awards recognise and celebrate women in tech, shining a light on role models that are inspiring the next generation. Huge congratulations to:

  • Veronica Popescu, shortlisted for Marketing Employee of the Year
  • Natalie McKay, shortlisted for the Outstanding Returner Award
  • Rebecca Richards, shortlisted for Role Model of the Year

On the topic of staff, our very own Steve Miles (Azure Practice Technical Lead) published his first book, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals Certification and Beyond. It’s available for purchase on Amazon and Packt – so be sure to give it a read!

Lastly, we are excited to announce that we have expanded our team in Ireland this year. John Breslin (Azure Business Development Manager), Stee O’Brien (Modern Workplace SureStep Ambassador) and the rest of the team in Ireland have done a fantastic job collaborating with partners.

Supporting our partners

With 2021 coming to an end, it’s time to bid farewell to Microsoft’s Open Licensing programme. Come January 2022, customers will instead be able to purchase perpetual licences through the Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) programme. Here at Westcoast Cloud, our SureStep team is supporting partners through this disruptive change. So, you can transition your customers to CSP, stress free.

You’ll also have heard that Microsoft is launching the New Commerce Experience (NCE) from mid-January 2022. This change in pricing structure is confusing – but we’ve got your back here, too. Since the announcement in September, we’ve produced tons of material on the NCE, including webinars, podcasts and blogs. These will help you understand in simple terms what the NCE means for you and your customers. Bring on 2022!

Expanding our resources

This year saw the launch of our very first ELEVATE virtual partner conference. The conference was a smashing success, boasting speakers from Microsoft, The Marketing Practice (TMP) and even our very own Westcoast Cloud team. ELEVATE helped foster a transparent dialogue between vendors and customers. We’d like to thank attendees for all the positive feedback we’ve received. If you missed the conference, watch the recordings here – and keep an eye out for ELEVATE 2022, which will be even bigger and better!

This year also saw the launch of Cloud Talk, our new podcast series that you can listen to on Spotify. It’s no secret that the team at Westcoast Cloud is comprised of industry-leading experts. Cloud Talk provides direct access to these experts. So, you don’t have to search long and hard for answers – we give them to you directly.

What’s new in 2022?

It’s safe to say that 2021 was a raging success – but at Westcoast Cloud, we believe the best is yet to come. We are excited to announce that we are onboarding several vendors and introducing novel cloud solutions for partners to adopt in the new year. This will present unique opportunities for growth, performance and success. We look forward to working with you to help improve your technical capabilities and achieve the competencies you strive for in the new year.
